Q: You’re relatively new to the adult film industry. What was the deciding factor for getting into porn?
I’ve been doing porn since April 2009, when I first shot with Falcon for “Green Door”. It just seemed like a good time to do it and I was in a place in my life where I knew I could do it well. I wanted porn to be something that added to my life and made it better, to help me get ahead. Luckily, it has been a great experience so far. Starting with being Man of the Year for Men Magazine to winning Performer of the Year at the last Grabby Awards, I have had a great time!
Q: You were working behind the scenes before you got in front of the camera. What exactly were you doing before you became Samuel Colt?
I have been involved in web development since the beginning of the worldwide web. I’ve worked on some of the biggest and best sites in the world, including companies like IBM, Apple, Sony and Gay.com. I still work full time doing web development, right now focusing on email marketing and social media.
Q: How did you decide on the name Samuel Colt?
I had booked a photoshoot for Men Magazine and knew I needed a name. I wanted something recognizable, masculine and easy to spell. I like history and always thought Dred Scott (a performer for Titan in early 2000) had a great name… So I came up with Samuel Colt.
Q: In the last 2 years, you’ve appeared in quite a few films. Do you ever watch the movies you’re in?
No, not really.. ever. They are still sitting on my shelf, shrink-wrapped. I do usually watch the preview though.
Q: Any favourite scenes that really stick in your mind?
Recently, the scene I did with Nate Karlton for Colt’s “Muscles in Leather” is a favorite. I’ve always loved Colt and there is nothing better than muscles and leather, in my opinion! Plus, Nate and I have been talking about doing a scene together for almost a year… I’m glad it finally happened.
Q: Who are your influences from days gone by in the gay porn world?
I always loved the old-school Colt guys… And Tom Katt, I’ve always loved him.
Q: Your boyfriend, Chris Porter, is also in the adult industry. What are the pros and cons of having a partner that’s in the same biz?
I don’t know if dating someone in the business is as important as dating someone who you trust, you communicate well with and doesn’t get jealous very often. I’ve been blessed to find that in a great guy like Chris…
Q: What might your fans be surprised to learn about you?
I’m very shy… I’m introverted by nature but being in porn and a public figure to some degree forces you to break out of that shell.
Q: We hear you’re actually a sci-fi nerd. So… Original Star Trek or Next Generation and why??
Actually I love Voyager and Deep Space Nine… However TNG is a favorite. I like Voyager because the woman are in power and run the ship. I love strong woman.
Q: What’s the craziest thing a fan has ever done or asked?
A fan wanted to put me in their will… I wasn’t comfortable with that so I asked them to donate it to the SPCA instead.
Q: If you weren’t doing porn, what would your dream career be?
Actually we are moving to Europe to start a boutique gay travel company. Initially we will be focusing on Greece and eventually offer trips to Istanbul, Budapest, Croatia and surrounding areas. Look for it starting next summer.
Q: You’re a fellow West Coaster, any plans to make it up to rainy Vancouver?
I was in Vancouver last year for Pride. I love it there… Hopefully we can come back before we move.
Q: What’s on the horizon for Samuel Colt for the rest of 2011 and beyond?

It is not so often that you can see really the chemistry between the performers (i mean not real one, but it should looks like it is real)
